Nexus 4.0 (Flipped Logic)

                                                                    -Think Beyond……

Want to quench your thirst as an engineer ??

Here is the chance to show your ingenuity and perspicacity. What we ask for is just to bring the logic out of MECHANICAL things with apt representation for binary inputs to implement the BOOLEAN FUNCTION. The winner is the one who makes it smart and yet very simple.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  1. No electrical connection will be provided and use of battery, cells, etc. is strictly prohibited.
  2. Use of pre-fabricated toy parts, LEGO kits, etc is not allowed.
  3. Maximum size – 4 ft X 4 ft
  4. Tables and chairs will be provided on prior request.
  5. Any other equipment will be provided by organizers subject to prior approval.
  6. Maximum of three members per team.
  7. Organizers reserve the right to inspect the model in case any discrepancy arises, with respect to its compliance with the problem statement.
  8. Combustible, inflammable substances should not be used.
  9. Setup time of 20 mins will be given before the scheduled time.
  10. Distinct functioning of all the given gates is necessary.
  11. Input and output must be well defined before their models come up for presentation.
  12. After the event, models will be kept for exhibition
  13. In case the above rules are not adhered to, points will be deducted or participants may even be disqualified.

Problem Definition:

Two motors M1 and M2 are controlled by three sensors S1, S2 and S3. One motor M2 is to run any time all three sensors are ON. The other motor is to run whenever sensors S2 or S1 but not both, are ON and S3 is OFF. For all sensor combinations where M1 is ON, M2 is to be OFF. When all the three sensors are OFF, then both motors must remain OFF.

Build a model to implement the given problem without using any form of electrical or chemical energy.

NOTEParticipants are supposed to demonstrate the  truth table for the given problem definition.
